Affiliate disclosure
Fair Auto Shops is a curated directory of independent auto shops recommended for honesty. This page explains how we may earn money later — and what we will never sell.
Current status
As of this update, Fair Auto Shops has zero live affiliate links. There are no paid product links on the site today. This disclosure exists so readers know the rules before any educational affiliate link goes live.
What may appear later
Some future educational pages (for example product mentions on /guide or similar how-to content) may include affiliate links. If you buy through one of those links, Fair Auto Shops may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
Examples of categories that might appear later (not current partners, and not a claim that any program is live):
- Auto parts and maintenance supplies
- DIY diagnostic tools (e.g. OBD readers)
- Tires and related education
We do not invent “current partner” names here. When a specific affiliate relationship goes live, links will be labeled clearly on the page where they appear.
What we will never sell
- Shop listings are never sold. A shop cannot pay to be added, kept, or ranked higher on a city directory.
- Honesty rank is never for sale. We do not auction “most honest” badges, invent star ratings, or take pay-to-rank placements.
- Affiliate links will never appear inside a shop’s “why listed” honesty blurb. Directory evidence text stays about public recommendation signals — not product commissions.
How to read our city pages
City directories (Greater LA, NYC, Chicago) list shops because of public honesty / fair-dealing recommendations we could document — not because anyone paid for the slot. See methodology.
